# Hyperliquid

ISA Terminal supports Hyperliquid futures settled in **USDC**. Spot is not supported. Use demo mode on the Hyperliquid test network to try it out.

## What you need

The connection requires two different values:

| Terminal field | Value |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Wallet address** | Public address of the main account or subaccount you will trade on |
| **API wallet private key** | Key of a separate API wallet created and approved on Hyperliquid |

**Do not enter your main wallet's private key or recovery phrase.** The terminal needs a separate API wallet key.

Do not put the API wallet address in **Wallet address**: this field needs the account address that holds your balance. [Hyperliquid documentation](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/for-developers/api/nonces-and-api-wallets) explains the difference.

## 1. Create an API wallet

1. Open the [Hyperliquid API page](https://app.hyperliquid.xyz/API) and connect your main wallet.
2. Create a separate API wallet for ISA Terminal.
3. Approve its use on the exchange.
4. Save its private key for the terminal connection form.

Use a separate API wallet for each terminal. Do not share its key in chats, screenshots or with an AI assistant.

## 2. Add a connection

1. Open **Connections → Add connection** in ISA Terminal.
2. Select **Hyperliquid — Futures USDC**.
3. Give the connection a name.
4. Enter the trading account address and API wallet private key.
5. For the test network, enable **Demo mode**. The API wallet must be approved on that network.
6. Click **Save**.
7. Enable the new connection in the table and wait for the balance.

This connection's balance and monetary amounts in its bot settings are in USDC.

## 3. Approve the terminal fee

On Hyperliquid, the terminal fee is charged in addition to the exchange fee. Its rate is shown when adding a connection and in the connection settings. After your approval, the exchange deducts it from executed trades.

1. Open the connection settings.
2. Find **Terminal fee**.
3. Click the approval button to open the iSpecAlgo page in your browser.
4. Connect the account's main wallet through MetaMask or Rabby. For a subaccount, use its parent wallet.
5. Check the account, network and rate, then sign the approval.
6. Return to the terminal and click **Check**.
7. Wait until approval is confirmed.

You sign in your wallet. The approval page does not require your main wallet's private key. See also [Hyperliquid's fee approval documentation](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/trading/builder-codes).

Without approval, a bot with no position will not start. If approval is revoked while it is running, the terminal continues managing the open position, but will not enter a new one after it closes.

## Before starting a bot

* Check that the connection is enabled and the balance is shown in USDC.
* Confirm the terminal fee is approved.
* Review trade size and other risk settings.
* Hyperliquid supports **One-Way mode only**: one bot per pair within a connection. There is no Hedge Mode.

## Troubleshooting

### No balance or the wrong account is shown

Check **Wallet address**. It must be the intended trading account, not the API wallet. Also check that the network matches: live or demo.

### Terminal fee prevents the bot from starting

Open the connection settings, approve the fee and click **Check**. If you have already signed, verify the main wallet and network you used.

### API wallet expired, removed or not approved

Create and approve a new API wallet on Hyperliquid. In the connection settings, enter its key in **New API wallet private key** and save. Leaving this field empty keeps the previous key.

When its expiry is known, the terminal displays it in the connection settings and warns as the date approaches.

If the error remains, check [logs](/en/isa-terminal/baza-znanii/logirovanie-v-isa.md) or send a [bug report](/en/isa-terminal/baza-znanii/kak-otpravit-bag-report.md).
